Connor just graduated from high school (see this post) and he has received quite a few handmade grad cards. One of my favorites is from Tracey, a longtime friend of our family. She's an amazing stamper...and I miss her here in Colorado!
I actually copied her card to send out to the many young men-grads we know. It's perfect! I simplified it slightly since I had so many to make, but the general idea is the same. Thank you, Tracey!
I used: Night of Navy, Old Olive, Sahara Sand and Whisper White. The stamp set is Word Play and the Big Shot was used along with the Stripes Embossing Folder to create texture in the background.

At the May Card Cafe' Class, we made a card that could be a Father's Day card (or other masculine card, depending on the stamper's need). I was inspired by something I saw from Cindy, one of my teammates. Love the simplicity! While there is ribbon on here (for me, that's a stretch for masculine cards), there is no bow. Does that count? ;-D
The greeting is staying (yea! for Delightful Dozen), but the Designer Paper is leaving...Well Worn is a FABULOUS paper to make masculine projects. Stock up before it's sold out!! We used the Simply Scored & Diagonal Plate to make the background.
Masculine cards are a challenge for most stampers - this one is very versatile and adaptable to any season/need. Enjoy!

Last Thursday was the May Card Cafe' Class and I decided to change up one of the projects...at 4:30pm. The class starts at 6:30 and I had someone coming over a bit early at 6:00pm. Yikes! Why on EARTH do I do this to myself? Well, in this case it was because I just wasn't thrilled with the original card and really wanted to offer something I felt good about. So...here's the replacement:
The card in the back is the one we made and it uses the retiring sets: Pocket Silhouettes and Thank You Kindly. The Finial Press Embossing Folder is also going away as well as the Textured Cardstock (soooo sad...) and Black Satin Ribbon (ALL 5/8" Satin Ribbon is outa here!).
I changed up the image and greeting on the card in the foreground to show an option using sets that are sticking around. This can easily be adopted to any number of images - but I will be missing Pocket Silhouettes.
Once the whole card was assembled, I spritzed the entire thing with the Champagne Shimmer Paint Spray (use a tube of hand-sanitizer liquid - basically just 65-70% solution rubbing alcohol - with about 4-5 drops of Champagne Shimmer Paint). Add some Basic Rhinestones and you have a LOVELY card!
The next Card Cafe' Class is right around the corner (June 7th). I must have ALL RSVPs in place by Wednesday the 6th at 5pm, but don't wait to register. It's easy to forget.

I created a card similar to this for our bi-monthly Team Shoebox Swap. You ought to sign up with me (only $99!!!) so you can join in...it's lots of fun and we all go home with NEW projects!
While in Orlando at Disney World, we got showered with all sorts of great gifts. NEW Product was my personal favorite and this project features several new items:
I used a Tangerine Tango base for the card and layered with Whisper White and the NEW International Bazaar Designer Paper. The colors used in that DSP are: Chocolate Chip, Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade, Pacific Point, Pool Party, Rich Razzleberry, Tangerine Tango and Whisper White.
We also received the NEW Midnight Muse (NEW In Color for 2012-13) 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon and the In Color Dahlias (Gumball Green, Midmight Muse, Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple and Summer Starfruit). While the colors aren't a direct match to the DSP, they coordinated very nicely!
And a NEW Embossing Folder: Fancy Fan...I LOVE Embossing Folders! Oh! And the stamp set is new! World Treasures!

I love the Card Cafe' Classes. Last night was the May class (be sure to RSVP for the June 7th class!) and I had everything all decided...until I changed up one of the projects. 4:30pm and I had someone coming over at 6pm. Nothing like scrambling! However, I like the new project much better and will share that tomorrow.
In the meantime, here is one of the projects that I love. I originally saw a version on Mary's blog and just had to recreate it using some retiring paper plus the retiring punch. Paisley Petals Designer Paper and Butterfly Punch are just two of many accessories that are retiring NEXT WEEK. Oh my gosh! Have you stocked up on your favorites, yet?

Okay, here's the card:
We used Whisper White and Baja Breeze Cardstocks as well as Baja Breeze Seam Binding Ribbon. The pearls are the Large Basic Pearl Jewels that were in the Occasions Mini and WILL be in the NEW Stampin' Up! Catalog. Wooohooo!
The ink is Old Olive and Mini Glue Dots were used to anchor the center of each butterfly to the card, allowing the wings to be lifted. You can see a close-up on my Fan Page.
